Costa Rica Travel Guide - About Me
Buenas! My name is Doug and I grew up mostly in Santa Rosa, California. I have a business degree from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo and have spent much of my post-graduate years avoiding that career path in one way or another.
I'm an avid traveler, have been throughout Central America and speak pretty decent Spanish. Prior to traveling the hot and sticky isthmus between North and South America, I studied Spanish in San Miguel de Allende Mexico, developing quite an affinity for latin culture. (Though my Salsa skills are still quite rudimentary.;-)
After Mexico, I went back to the States and earned money working temp jobs in the Oregon wine country (bottling, production, vineyard crush etc.).
I then decided to go to Costa Rica and earn my divemaster
certification. Instead of staying for a three month internship, as planned, I ended up staying for one year.
Now back in the States, I decided to make a website for others interested in Costa Rica travel - and in an attempt to stay connected to all the wonderful and amazing memories I made in that country.
I hope you enjoy looking around and that maybe you'll begin your life-long love affair with this wonderful country, as I certainly have.
P.S. - I'm always willing to help if you need any advice or recommendations. And if you have any suggestions, recommendations, stories, or pictures I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by!
